What we offer

The venue

Oakwell Hall is a stunning Grade I Listed Elizabethan Manor House, furnished as a family home of the late 17th Century.

It provides a unique setting for your special day with its gorgeous atmospheric period rooms and fascinating history - and what manor house would be complete without its own ghost!

Ceremonies can take place on Saturday and Sunday at 11am, or Tuesday to Thursday at 10am. On Mondays and Fridays the Hall is closed to the public and on these days ceremonies can take place at either 11am or 2pm. The Great Hall will comfortably hold 60 guests for your ceremony.

The Great Hall will be decorated on your wedding day with silk flowers, and a complimentary floral arrangement in your choice of colours.

Following the ceremony the rooms are available for your wedding photography although only bride, groom and photographer are allowed in the rooms due to the nature of the furniture and the beautifully restored walled garden.

The barn

Oakwell Barn is a restored 19th Century barn and is Grade II Listed, ideally located in the Visitor Centre to the side of Oakwell Hall.

The Barn is also licensed for Civil Ceremonies and Partnerships and has a maximum capacity of 110.

It is also the perfect setting for your wedding reception, offering a magnificent rural setting as the backdrop.

The barn can accommodate a maximum of 110, this figure is dependent upon the room layout you choose for your reception. Please liaise with the Wedding Coordinator for a more accurate figure.

Receptions can run until 11pm but the barn must be vacated by 11.30 pm.

Parking and toilet facilities

There is car parking for up to 50 cars adjacent to the building.

Toilet facilities are provided in the courtyard of the Visitor Centre. These toilets are also used by the public and therefore cannot be for the sole purpose of the hirer.

Alcohol

Oakwell Hall does not hold a licence for the sale of alcohol, so one must be obtained in advance using an existing licensee.

You can however supply drinks for your guests free of charge without an additional licence.

Please note though that as the courtyard is a public area we would be grateful if your guests did not consume alcohol there until after 5pm.
