Achieving work life balance
The council has a variety of special leave provisions and family friendly policies which, combined with flexible ways of working across the council, have been introduced to both improve service delivery and work life balance for our employees.
Health care
There are a range of Employee Healthcare Services available to Kirklees employees.
Employee Healthcare provides a range of services including, medical referral, health screening, counselling, workplace assessment, specialised health checks, vaccination and immunisation programmes, Healthy Employees through Active Leisure (HEAL) scheme, first aid and emergency aid training and health promotion.
Childcare vouchers
The council offers childcare vouchers to employees. This is a salary sacrifice scheme which means that the amount of childcare vouchers you elect to buy is deducted from gross salary. This means you pay less income tax and national insurance. Vouchers can be used in part payment for nurseries, childminders, after school clubs, and holiday play schemes as long as the care selected is registered.
