Kirklees Safeguarding Adults Board (KSAB)
Kirklees Safeguarding Adults Board (KSAB) is an independent statutory partnership in its own right set up under the Care Act 2014 and is not a public authority.
The Board is hosted by Kirklees Council and is a multi-agency partnership. The KSAB works within the framework of the law and statutory guidance to strategically assure itself that local safeguarding arrangements and partners act to help and protect adults at risk in Kirklees in line with the criteria set out in section 42.1 of the Care Act 2014, that is:
- has needs for care and support (whether or not the authority is meeting any of those needs);
- is experiencing, or is at risk of, abuse or neglect, and;
- as a result of those needs is unable to protect himself or herself against the abuse or neglect or the risk of it

Safeguarding adults reviews (SAR) reports and improvement plans
A Safeguarding Adults Review is carried out when an adult at risk dies or has experienced serious neglect or abuse, and there is concern that agencies could have worked more effectively to protect the adult.
A Safeguarding Adults Review is a multi-agency learning process. It aims to:
- identify and promote good practice
- encourage effective learning
- make recommendations for future practice so that deaths or serious harm can be prevented from happening again
- Safeguarding adults review - guidance for families and carers
- Closure of Oxford Grange care home review report
- Closure of Oxford Grange care home review improvement plan
- Mr G overview report
- Mr G improvement plan
- SAR Colin - National Briefing
- Adult O SAR report
The briefing is being shared anonymously as there are a number of sensitive issues which has led to the Board in question doing all that they can to protect the identities of those involved whilst still sharing the learning.
