Changes to Auntie Pam's service delivery

From 1 July 2024, the way that Auntie Pam's support is provided in Dewsbury is changing. Instead of having the Dewsbury town centre base, we will be providing the Auntie Pam's service directly within local communities. The Auntie Pam's Centre at 9 Northgate, Dewsbury will close, and the service will be delivered directly into the community via our outreach service.

Outreach days and venues confirmed

From Friday 13 September (every two weeks), outreach will take place at:

  • Birstall Library, 10.00am until 11.15am
  • Rainbow Baby Bank Community Hub, Heckmondwike, 11.30am until 12.30pm
  • Windybank Community Centre, Liversedge, 1.30pm until 2.00pm

From Friday 11 October (every two weeks), outreach will take place at:

  • St. Andrew's Church, Mirfield, 9.00am until 10.00am

Why it's changing

We want our Auntie Pam's support service to continue providing support for as many families as we can across Kirklees.

By offering Auntie Pam's Dewsbury as an outreach service, we hope to reach and engage with more families who need us the most.

We have asked local families about these changes and the majority said they would prefer having more support available closer to home.

So, we hope that by delivering Auntie Pam's directly into the heart of the community we will provide a more flexible, convenient, accessible, and tailored service for families in North Kirklees.

Auntie Pam's Centre, 2 New Street, Huddersfield, HD1 2AR - Tuesday and Thursday 10am until 3pm. From 4 September, open 3 days per week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 10am until 3pm.

Outreach

Information about outreach locations, including date and time will be available on our website, social media or by telephoning 01484 414775 from September 2024.

Swap shop

  • Dewsbury Auntie Pam's swap shop closed from 1 July.
  • Donations can be made to our Huddersfield Auntie Pam's swap shop.
  • A larger Swap Shop is available at our Huddersfield Auntie Pam's centre.

Baby weigh

  • Baby Weigh is available at our Huddersfield Auntie Pam's centre.
  • Baby Weigh is available at our outreach locations.

Referrals (baby bank, local welfare provision, food bank)

  • Referrals can be made from our Huddersfield Auntie Pam's centre.
  • Referrals can also be made from our outreach locations.

Volunteering at Auntie Pam's

Contact our Huddersfield Auntie Pam's centre if you would like to volunteer for Auntie Pam's.

All other support from Auntie Pam's is available through our Huddersfield Auntie Pam's centre and outreach locations.
