How we carry out Fire Risk Assessments and test lifts

Fire Risk Assessments

Safety in your home is an absolute priority for us. We carry out Fire Risk Assessments on your buildings to ensure all fire doors, smoke detection systems and alarms are in full working order. As a tenant we would like you to follow good fire safe habits, being careful with candles, not allowing rubbish to pile up or block fire escape routes.

Lift testing

We regularly test and check all lifts within our buildings to make sure they are safe, maintained and in good working order. As a tenant, if any lifts in your building are out of order, do let us know so we can fix them.

Fire Safety Programmes

We are investing over £90m on fire safety improvements over the next few years to ensure we have the highest standards of fire safety protection across council homes in Kirklees. Our initial focus is to improve fire safety measures in high rise properties, six-storey blocks and retirement living schemes.
