About the site

Beaumont Street Park is located in the Batley East ward of Kirklees. A design for the redevelopment of the play area on site has been created in conjunction with your Local Ward Councillors after highlighting it as the first site for redevelopment in the Ward as part of the Playable Spaces Programme.

Project overview

The new design aims to make the play provision more appealing and accessible to all age groups by using a variety of through-age play equipment types and features.

Explanation and information about the new design

The proposed plan for the site includes:

  • A new piece of accessible play equipment
  • The refurbishment of entrance/exit gates
  • A complete refurbishment of the memorial - including scultural artwork
  • A new timber retaining wall
  • The refurbishment of the existing benches within the play area
  • Elements of resurfacing
