About the site

Grange Moor is a village located 6 miles east of Huddersfield centre and is in the Kirkburton ward of Kirklees.

There are two play areas in Grange Moor:

Grange Moor Park

Located on the open green space opposite St. Bartholomew's Church on Liley Lane.

Grange Moor Recreation Ground

Located just off Briestfield Road.

The Playable Spaces Programme has funding to improve both play areas and working in conjunction with your local councillors, we have two designs that we'd like to share with you.

Project overview

Grange Moor Park

The design for Grange Moor Park caters more towards younger children, providing elements of traditional play including a new climbing frame and nest swing, along with sustainably refurbishing the existing seesaw and roundabout. New, low maintenance and accessible safety surfacing will be installed and playful elements will be added to the fence line to encourage imaginative play.

Grange Moor Recreation Ground

The play area on Grange Moor Recreation Ground proposes to provide more challenging play, fitness and agility equipment for older ones. New equipment will be installed alongside refurbishing the existing play area and fencing.

Next Steps

The survey has closed. Officers are reviewing your feedback and will strive to make changes where practicable.
