About the site
Following an earlier consultation on Mirfield's Parks and Open Spaces, we are now proposing specific improvements to Mirfield Memorial Ground, based on the initial feedback received.

The proposed designs
Playable Spaces funding aims to improve the children's play provision and expand petanque provision to meet local demand at the site.
Funding for the steps and ramp will come from Network Rail's First and Last Mile fund, aimed at making journeys to rail stations and other local facilities from local communities easier.
Funding has also been secured to make improvement to the canal towpath between Mirfield Station and Shepley Marina. Canal & River Trust, the nation's largest canal charity, will be improving the towpath to create better access for walking and wheeling.
