Located at the east end of the north aisle in Dewsbury Minster which is situated in the town centre near the Town Hall and Dewsbury Sports Centre.
There are several plaques/memorials including the Great War Memorial relocated from St Philips Church, Leeds Road.
The periods commemorated are 1899-1902, 1914-1919 and 1942-1945.

In thankful memory of the men from this church, who gave their lives in the Great War, 1914 - 1919. - Their names live for evermore.
The upper plaque relocated from St Philips Church reads:
For the Glory of God and in lasting Remembrance of the men from this Parish and Church who served with the Forces of the King and in pious memory of the following who laid down their lives in the Great War A.D. 1914 - 1919 This Memorial is dedicated. "The souls of the Faithful departed in Joy & Felicity with Almighty God"

This brass plaque is erected in gratitude to God for the safe return of 3 officers and 82 non-commissioned officers and men of the Dewsbury Detachment 1st Volunteer Battalion The King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry who served in South Africa 1899 to 1902. And in memory of four of their comrades who died during the campaign.
