The Kirklees Passport is a council-run discount scheme, which incorporates discounts from other services. Holders get a great range of discounts on many different activities and services.

It is available to residents of Kirklees who receive benefits, including Working Tax Credit, are disabled or full-time students.

If you have a Kirklees Passport and own a car, you can apply for a 1 hour extra free parking in some council-run car parks.

Passport types and help
A Priority Passport costs £2.00 for an adult and £1.00 for a child. They are available to Kirklees residents who receive, or are directly dependent on someone who receives, one of more of the following:
- Housing Benefit
- Council Tax Reduction (not single person discount)
- Universal Credit
- Job Seekers Allowance (income based)
- Guaranteed Pension Credit (not savings credit)
- Income Support
- Employment and Support Allowance (income related)
- Tax credit with tax credit NHS exemption
Your Tax Credit award must be based on an annual income which entitles you to full NHS exemption.
An Access Passport costs £3.00 for an adult and £1.50 for a child. Access Passports are available to Kirklees residents who receive one or more of the following:
- Job Seekers Allowance (contribution based)
- National Insurance Credits
- Carer's Allowance
- Incapacity Benefit
- Employment and Support Allowance (contribution based)
- Disability Living Allowance
- Personal Independence Payment
- Severe Disablement Allowance
- Attendance Allowance
- Industrial Injuries Benefit
- War Pensioner's Disablement Benefit
- Registered Disabled or deaf or blind or partially sighted
- Blue Badge Holder
- Registered Wheelchair User
- Full time Student aged 16 or over
- Working Tax Credit
- Asylum Seeker
A +1 will be added to your Passport if you:
- receive the care component of Disability Living Allowance, or
- receive the daily living component of Personal Independence Payment, or
- receive Attendance Allowance, or
- are registered blind
This will enable someone to accompany you free of charge to certain arts events, concerts and sporting activities.
If you are a Kirklees Passport holder your Flexi Card is free of charge. You will need to apply for a Flexi Card in order to use your Kirklees Passport at the Kirklees Active Leisure centres.
