Unitary Development Plan saved policies
The Unitary Development Plan (UDP) was superseded by the Local Plan on 27th February 2019.
As a result of a direction issued by the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, from 28 September 2007 some of the policies in the UDP continued to have effect. These are called saved policies.
Polices that were not saved
Some of the policies which were not saved were redundant, for example, because the relevant development has taken place or because they have been superseded by changes in national planning policy.
Other policies were not saved because they were considered to repeat national planning policy or other relevant guidance, or duplicated specific legislative controls. However, the issues that were addressed in those unsaved policies remain relevant to the consideration of planning applications.
The replacement guidance for these policies is set out in a revision of the Unitary Development Plan written statement.
