Kirklees Housing Brokerage Service
Kirklees Council's Housing Brokerage Service can assist private sector landowners to bring forward their sites, particularly where those sites have previously been granted planning permission for housing development.
The intention is to support housing development in Kirklees by encouraging new partnerships between landowners and developers.
Our objectives
Our main objectives are to:
- Unlock challenging sites
- Deliver more homes
- Maximise use of brownfield land
- Provide new life for heritage assets
- Support local and small and medium enterprises (SMEs)
- Grow developer confidence in longer term housing developments
How we can help
Following an initial appraisal, we may be able to:
- Offer site-specific preliminary planning advice
- Offer brokerage contact with potential development investment partners
- Offer advice on overcoming barriers to development
- Explore the potential for funding opportunities from other public sector bodies
