Redevelopment of day care services in North Kirklees

Day care services for adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities and autism.

We're excited to share plans to repurpose existing facilities that support adults with complex learning disabilities and autism in Kirklees.

We are investing in modernising facilities in Heckmondwike by changing existing services in the Mill Dale and Crescent Dale buildings. This will improve the availability of existing local places for day opportunities. It will also enable staff to support more adults with profound and multiple learning and physical disabilities and autism through high quality day services.

The investment will bring facilities in north Kirklees in line with the more modern and fit for purpose facilities in the south of the district. All proposed building changes will incorporate the University of Stirling's Dementia Service Development Centre standards. They will also incorporate significant design and technology features that support people living with profound and multiple learning and physical disabilities and autism.
