Key safes
A key safe is a small box you lock that holds a key. This means care workers, family or emergency services can get into your home if you can't get to the door.
A key safe is fixed to an outdoor wall. You use a code that you can choose to open it.
Buying a key safe
You can buy a key safe online or on the high street. West Yorkshire Police recommend key safes that have the Secured by Design approval logo.

Fitting a key safe
You should follow the manufacturer's instructions exactly to make sure your key safe is fitted securely to a solid surface such as brickwork or concrete using the approved fittings.
If you are over the age of 60 and/or with a disability, Age UK provide a Handyperson service who can fit the key safe for you.
Age UK also provided a Trusted Traders Directory where you can find local trader you can trust.
