Friends organisations
Becoming a museum friend is a great way to get more actively involved in supporting our museums and galleries, and to meet like-minded people who share a love for heritage and for our local communities. We have two very active Friends groups who meet regularly and take part in a wide variety of projects.
Friends of Tolson and Ravensknowle
The Friends of Tolson and Ravensknowle is a volunteer-led organisation who works closely with the Tolson Museum team by hosting regular events ranging from outdoor theatre to tea and cake socials in the museum, and by fundraising.
They are passionate about supporting Tolson Museum and Ravensknowle Park as places of recreation, education and enjoyment for the long term benefit of the community, and recently raised money to design, plan and build a Memorial Garden for service men and women who have given their lives in conflicts since 1945.

Friends of Oakwell Hall and Country Park
Founded in 1988, the Friends of Oakwell Hall and Country Park are a voluntary support group for Oakwell Hall and Country Park. They undertake a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities including: acting as guides in the Hall, running tea and cake stalls at events, helping with activities and crafts, keeping the gardens and parks beautiful, and raising funds to support Oakwell Hall and Country Park.
