Kirklees is a diverse and inclusive district and is committed to strengthening our communities to ensure everyone can progress no matter what their background. This includes empowering those who speak little or no English, by:

  • boosting language skills
  • building confidence to unleash their potential
  • reducing isolation
  • ensuring everyone can participate in their community.

Courses and workshops

We offer confidence with English courses in communities across Kirklees. These are not accredited but designed to develop confidence with writing, reading, listening and speaking skills.

ESOL in Kirklees classes are organised and run through Paddock Community Trust, Ravensthorpe Community Centre and Crosland Moor Community Learning Centre.
